After graduating from St. Lawrence University, John followed his college buddies to Sun Valley in the fall of 1990 for a winter of ski bumming, and never left. He learned to build houses from concrete to doorknobs in the valley though the ‘90s and early 2000s until he made the transition to being a general contractor. After a 14 year working relationship in the industry, Mike and John partnered in 2008 to establish Lee Gilman Builders. 

As a master carpenter with extensive experience with the Valley’s P&Z and Building Departments, John’s comprehensive understanding of the entire building process, as well as his advocacy for his clients, make him a major asset. John enjoys walking through projects during the building process, in awe of what the amazing team at Lee Gilman are able to accomplish and create.

Outside of work, John loves to ski, mountain bike, dirt bike, snowmobile, bird hunt, and whitewater rafting.
